This paper presents the results of empirical research regarding the frequency of the high school students Internet use. We start from the premise that young people are very receptive to the use of new technologies, that they use the Internet very often and with enthusiasm. Although the students, as persons in development, are still in the process of education, it is believed that schools with their system of work are not able to provide adequate responses to young people, so that this population is increasingly turning to the Internet services that offer a variety of contents. The study aims to determine the existence of statistically significant differences in the attitudes of high school students about the frequency of the Internet use with respect to sociodemographic variables: gender, class, school success and place of residence. Data were collected using a five-point Likert scale (a=0.850) and processed in the SPSS software program.
Research results confirmed the basic hypothesis that the independent variables have no impact on the frequency of the high school students Internet use. It has been established that the high school students use the Internet almost equally, and that the minor differences are present in relation to the year of study and the place of residence.
