Abstract

The basic thesis is that the cyclical theories of society created in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, regardless of certain differences between them, essentially containing Nietzsche's idea of the eternal recurrence of the same. This view is based on several assumptions. The first is that the idea of eternal recurrence of the same is not simply transfer archaic understanding of circulation of historical and social developments, but that Nietzsche gave consistent ontological sense of this completely original idea on which he will build the basis of his philosophy of life. The next assumption is that all the great themes of philosophers (the death of God, a reevaluation of all values, superhuman, will to power) are based on the doctrine of eternal recurrence of the same, as a comprehensive and fundamental idea. Last assumption would be that Nietzsche’s new understanding of time dimensions and thought about a limited number of combinations in infinite time make a philosophical foundation on which are springing up all subsequent cyclical theories of society.
