TECHNO-STRESS CONCEPT, FORMS, IMPACT ON EMPLOYEES AND WAYS TO REDUCE THE EFFECTS OF ACTION

The modern age is marked by the rapid development of information and communication technology. Many jobs are based entirely on the daily use of its various forms. It is clear that this order brings a great number of positive changes. However, the negative aspects of the use of modern technologies cannot be left aside. In practice, it has been shown that a number of employees feel a large number of both the psychological and physical consequences of its use. They declare themselves tired, stressed, scared precisely because of constant human-machine contact. It is definitely that techno-stress affects health not only physically but also psychologically. This finding indicates that employees in the 21st century, and generally in the era of rapid technological development, are experiencing great emotional strain at work that ultimately leads to a decline in productivity and low job satisfaction. Therefore, companies that have realized the importance of human potential to this phenomenon are increasingly paying attention and trying to protect their staff from all the potential negative impacts of modern information and communication technology (ICT). It is for these reasons that the authors deal with the conceptual definition of techno-stress, its origin and forms. The paper also presents five dimensions that are the immediate causes of techno-stress: Techno-overload, Techno-invasion, Techno-complexity, Techno-uncertainty and Techno-uncertainty. In addition, the results of one of the most valid studies in this field, presented by author Salo et al., are presented. It is clear that the benefits of using ICT cannot be disputed. However, company management is advised to exercise a high degree of caution in its implementation. Employees need to be supported in the form of continuous training, stress management programs, effective communications, etc.
