JOSIP BROZ, CPY AND THE RECONSTITUTION OF YUGOSLAVIA

The subject of this paper is the political activity of Josip Broz Tito and the Communist Party of Yugoslavia’s rule that was headed by him and in which he he had a dominant role. Communist revolution has opened up space for realization of the vision of Yugoslavia as a transit country, with Croatian and Slovenian personnel as its backbone. Particular aspirations of the Croatian and Slovene nationalism have found satisfaction in such Yugoslavia while cohesive factors were losing influence. This policy is evident from the very beginnings of the Communist Party’s rule, represented by the long-standing physical repression, continued in the form of court intrigues, due to the nature of government of Josip Broz Tito and his specific role in the political life of socialist Yugoslavia.
